Healing Lord, during a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Saint Angela Merici experienced a major devastation; she became blind. Yet she insisted on continuing the pilgrimage with devotion and enthusiasm. In my journey through this world, and in the journeys of everyone I know—especially the handicapped and disabled—help us to continue onward when adversities hit. Renew our zeal for spiritual growth. You restored Saint Angela’s sight; teach us to know that Your healing love is with us even when we don’t get the cures we want. Use everything to bring us closer to You. Saint Angela Merici, pray for us. Amen.
QUOTES by Saint Angela Merici
A good tree, that is, a good heart as well as a soul on fire with charity can do nothing but good and holy works. For this reason Saint Augustine said: ‘Love, and do what you will,’ namely, possess love and charity and then do what you will. It is as if he had said: Charity is not able to sin. >>
The Holy Spirit is the one who teaches us every truth. >>
Keep to the ancient way and custom of the Church, established and confirmed by so many Saints under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. And live a new life. Pray, and get others to pray, that God not abandon His Church, but reform it as He pleases, and as He sees best for us, and more to His honor and glory. >>
