Generous God, Saint John of Egypt was a hermit who made himself available to people who needed spiritual help. Many people, including the emperor, sought his counsel. He could prophesy the future, look into people’s souls, read their thoughts, and heal them through the use of blessed oil. I ask him to pray that I discover the special gifts You have given me, and that I learn how to use them in all the circumstances of my life and to help others grow closer to You. Teach me, Holy Spirit, to accept and grow in the gifts You’ve bestowed upon me, and favor me with more as I grow in holiness. Saint John of Egypt, pray for me. Amen.

Most Gracious God, Saint Ludger poured all his energy into his priestly ministry and delighted in teaching about You. He spoke to anyone who would listen, any time he would find an opportunity. O Lord, take away my laziness and lack of enthusiasm. I ask Saint Ludger to intercede for me, that I may develop great awe in giving You all I’ve got. Teach me so much about Your love that I bubble over with fervor. Take away any fears that hold me back from shining forth with Your Light. Give me words that teach Who You are, with an intensity that spreads my delight in knowing You. Saint Ludger, pray for me. Amen.
Holy Spirit, at the Annunciation, You spoke to Mary through an angel to invite her to participate in the plan of salvation. Though she questioned how it was possible for her to become the mother of the Messiah, and she knew she faced rejection from Joseph and others, she gave You her yes. With the help of her prayers, I want to become fully willing to say yes to my part in giving Christ to the world. Encourage me when I don’t understand what You’re asking. Bless me with the grace of hearing the call at my own time of “annunciation” and the courage to trust in Your plan. Let it be done unto me according to Your will. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for me. Amen.
Jesus My Lord, Saint Catherine of Sweden served you with her mother Saint Bridget by organizing pilgrimages to Jerusalem and other places to stimulate people’s spiritual growth. In between pilgrimages, they spent their time in prayer and meditation, ministering to the poor and instructing them in religion. Show me what opportunities I have to encourage spiritual growth in others. I ask Saint Catherine to pray for me to be successful in such endeavors. Bless the use of my imagination and inspire my willingness to teach the Faith, in my parish and elsewhere. Saint Catherine of Sweden, pray for me. Amen.
God of Love, Saint Turibius of Mogrovejo had an unwavering desire to build his parish into a community of believers who imitate Christ. When he was asked to become an archbishop, he refused the honor, but when he learned about the poor condition of the people in the archdiocese, he took the position in order to help them. Inspire me, O Lord, to accept opportunities of position and authority for the sake of distributing Your love and support. Anoint my Christian friendships and parish organizations so that we may grow as a community of faithful followers who imitate Jesus in serving others. Saint Turibius of Mogrovejo, pray for us. Amen.
