Compassionate Lord, Saint Elizabeth Bichier founded the Daughters of the Cross to form a community that would educate children and care for the sick. I ask her to pray for the programs that are dedicated to teaching children and ministering to the hospitalized, homebound, and dying. Inspire those who are in charge of these important works, O Lord, and help them to feel Your affirmation and guidance. Remind us all that in such programs we are first and foremost serving You. Teach us how to place the needs of the vulnerable ones in our society above our program’s policies and finances. Saint Elizabeth, pray for us. Amen.

Holy Lord, Saint Joseph Calasanz highly esteemed those who gave spiritual instruction to children. He believed that the highest calling is to help young ones attain eternal life. I ask him to pray for catechists and parents as they direct their ministry to the well-being of the souls of children and teens. Teach us to pass down our faith, dear God, and help us to shape their behavior by fostering in them a devotion to You and the Christian life. Inspire these children to influence the world of the new millennium when they grow up, spreading Your kingdom wherever they go and bringing renewed life to Your Church. Saint Joseph, pray for us. Amen.
O Jesus, Saint Bartholomew’s greatest desire was to know the truth. When first informed about You, his initial reaction was, “How can anything good come from Nazareth?” But as soon as he met You, he wanted to become one of Your disciples. You said of him, “Here is a man in whom there is no deception.” I ask him to pray against the deceptions that are influencing me and the people I know. Help us to experience Your affirmation when we are honest, give us courage to resist lying as a means of self-protection, and inspire our minds to recognize the truth when we hear it. Saint Bartholomew, pray for us. Amen.
Loving God, Saint Rose of Lima was a mystic and visionary who received invisible stigmata, and yet she often suffered from the feeling that You were distant. Despite how lonely this felt, she persisted in believing that You were indeed with her all the time, and she continually prayed to grow stronger in her ability to trust You. I ask her to intercede for me when my feelings tell me You are not near, and to pray most powerfully for all those I know who are right now experiencing loneliness because they are unaware of how close You are to them. Open our hearts to the reality of Your intimacy. Saint Rose, pray for us. Amen.
Dear God, the Feast Day of Mary Our Queen was instituted by Pope Pius XII to consecrate the whole human race to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I ask our Holy Queen to renew this consecration. Protect each person in this world as the precious child of God that we are. Fight for us against the wickedness and temptations of the devil, convict us of our need for repentance, and lead us to reconciliation through Jesus. O Lord, bring all of humanity under the authority of Mary’s queenship. Jesus have mercy on us and on the whole world, and help us to fully use the tools of conversion. Mary our Queen, pray for us. Amen.
