Holy Spirit, Saint Prosper was widely known for his work in converting heretics. He convinced them of the truth by increasing their understanding and compassionately educating them about their mistakes. I ask him to pray for the people today who hold wrong beliefs and misunderstandings about abortion, euthanasia, sexual activities, occult powers, birth control, and other issues of morality. Make us aware, O Lord, of the errors we believe, and explain to us what is right. Point us to scriptures that clarify the truth for us, and give us ears to learn from teachers of the Faith. Saint Prosper, pray for me. Amen.

O Savior Jesus, at time of the birth of John the Baptist, his father Zechariah was ministering in the temple, when an angel brought him news that his elderly wife Elizabeth would bear a child and that this boy would be filled with the Holy Spirit. But Zechariah doubted, and because of this was struck dumb until the birth of John the Baptist. I ask Saint John to pray for me when I doubt, that my own hesitancy to believe in You will be converted into strong faith and true conviction. Help me to learn from Your promises that I can always trust in You. Lord Jesus, I do believe; help my unbelief. Saint John the Baptist, pray for me. Amen.
Dear Father, Saint Etheldreda used to enjoy showing off her wealth by wearing lavish jewelry. After her conversion, she lived an austere life, and when she developed an enormous and unsightly tumor on her neck, she gratefully accepted it as a penance for all the necklaces she had worn when she’d been so full of pride. Lord, turn me away from using material possessions to draw attention to myself, and help me to discover my true inner beauty, which You created in me, and which always shines in Your eyes regardless of the clothes I wear, the jewelry I put on, or the color I dye my hair. Saint Etheldreda, pray for me. Amen.
Beloved Lord, Saint Paulinus of Nola used his position as a Roman Consul to accumulate great wealth, but this did not satisfy him. In his yearning to find You, he gave away all his possessions to the poor. Then You called him to become a bishop, and he used that position to help many people. I ask him to pray for me in all the areas of my life where I am dissatisfied. Help me, O God, to look more honestly at how I use the positions I’m in and the motives behind my ambitions. Make me aware of the longings I have that only You can satisfy and, guide me in fulfilling my true vocation. Saint Paulinus of Nola, pray for me. Amen.
Holy God, Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, at age 16, gave up his inherited right to be a prince so that he could grow in sanctity through the Jesuit discipline. He died young, at age 23, because he contracted a disease from the sick people he had helped. Now he is the patron saint of youth. I ask him to intercede for the youth in my family, my parish community, and my neighborhood. O Lord, excite their faith, and help them discover You are their friend. Teach our churches how to draw them in and meet their spiritual needs. Bring new life to our parishes by getting the youth involved in contributing their fresh ideas. Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, pray for us. Amen.
