Dear Father, Saint Eligius earned his livelihood as a metalsmith and he performed his skill so well that his reputation brought in a large income. Dedicating his wealth to You, he used it to help the poor, ransom slaves, and build churches. I ask him to pray for my family members and friends who work in the business world. Remind us, O God, to make friendship with You our highest priority. Help us to be aware that we are in partnership with You in our jobs. Bless our efforts, our co-workers, and our income. Deliver us from all anxieties as we rely on You in everything we do. Saint Eligius, pray for us. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Saint Andrew was the first Apostle. He enthusiastically led other people to You, starting with his brother, Saint Peter. Saint John Chrysostom said in a homily about these saints, “To support one another in the things of the spirit is the true sign of good will between brothers, loving kinship and sincere affection.” I ask Saint Andrew to pray for my relationships with family members. Jesus, You came to divide us from our families if they do not follow You. Bring conversion to the hearts of disbelieving loved ones so that we may become united in the Faith and bonded in our love for You. Saint Andrew, pray for us. Amen.
Good Jesus, Saint Francis Anthony of Lucera led a life that overflowed with love. His compassion and aid went to every needy person he could find. It was he who originated the idea of collecting gifts for poor families during the Christmas season. I ask him to pray for gift-giving ministries that provide Christmas joy to needy people. O Lord, show me which families to buy presents for and which organizations to give donations to. As I shop for my own family and friends, keep me from turning Your birthday into a materialistic holiday. Help me to give generously the gifts of love. Saint Francis Anthony, pray for us. Amen.
Almighty Father, You gave Saint Catherine Labouré a vision of the Blessed Mother revealing an image that was to be made into the Miraculous Medal. You commissioned her to spread its devotion. It included the prayer: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” You promised that those who wear it as a sign of devotion will receive the graces needed for holy living. I ask Saint Catherine to pray for the miracles I need. Dear God, bless me abundantly with the grace to resist sin, understand Your will, and obey Your commandments. O Mary and Saint Catherine, pray for me. Amen.
Heavenly King, Saint James Intercisus did not have the courage to profess the Faith during the persecutions because he was afraid of losing the pagan king’s friendship. His wife and mother, however, challenged him to put God above all his fears, and warned him that his sin could lead him to Hell. He repented, and gladly accepted torture and death because of his new love for You. I ask him to pray for me when I make decisions based on fear. Help me, dear God, to listen to my loved ones when they seek to turn me back to You. Renew my mind and give me the courage to love You more than my earthly life. Saint James, pray for me. Amen.
