Holy God, Saint Kilian was a bishop who traveled throughout his diocese to reach all the parishes and minister to his flock. He realized that his calling to be a missionary meant going beyond the borders of his own country, so he took eleven companions and left home to evangelize Gaul. I ask him to intercede for me whenever I travel, that wherever I go I am a missionary for You, O Lord. Help me to chose vacations that are more than just pleasure trips that serve only me. Provide me with opportunities to share my faith every place I go, both locally and afar, and give me safety in all of my trips. Saint Kilian, pray for me. Amen.

Blessed Lord, Saint Syrus of Genoa was a bishop whose virtuous life was such a powerful witness of mercy and charity and miraculous powers that Christianity spread throughout his diocese and beyond. I ask him to pray for me to be able to examine myself honestly—looking at how strong or weak I am in the virtues. O Lord, show me how much of a difference my piety makes in the people around me. To the extent that they complain about me, teach me how to become more like You, so that it is the virtues they see in me and not my sin. Multiply the little good that is in me to reveal Your great love. Saint Syrus of Genoa, pray for me. Amen.
Compassionate Savior, Saint Maria Goretti was a young girl when a farmhand tried to rape her. As she warned him that he was sinning, he stabbed her repeatedly. Before she died, she forgave him. Later, while in jail for his crime, the perpetrator had a vision in which Maria led him to conversion. She is the patron saint of teen girls, rape victims, and chastity. I ask her to pray for the teenagers I know, that they save sex for marriage, and for those who have been sexually abused, that they find the strength and faith to forgive their attackers. Lord Jesus, heal their wounds. Saint Maria Goretti, pray for us. Amen.
Our Heavenly Father, Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria started out as a physician and then realized he wanted to heal souls as well as bodies, so he became a priest. He devoted his life to renewing the Christian lifestyle of his parishioners, reforming their morals, encouraging them to work together in ministry, and promoting the frequent reception of Holy Communion. I ask him to pray for everyone in my parish. Help us to realize the importance of healing our souls, and inspire us with a greater appreciation of the transforming power of the Eucharist, through which we become Jesus for each other. Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria, pray for us. Amen.
Lord of Love, Saint Elizabeth of Portugal was married to a king, and her spiritual life was often interrupted by politics and family arguments. She regained her inner peace by spending time in prayer and doing works of charity. I ask her to pray for my family whenever we are quarreling, for my workplace whenever office politics interfere with getting the job done right, and for my church whenever infighting threatens the effectiveness of our ministries. Teach us, O Lord, to always run to You first in prayer and to serve each other with love in order to bring an end to divisions and political maneuvering. Saint Elizabeth of Portugal, pray for us.
