March 4 – Saint Casimir of Poland

Saint-Casimir-of-Poland.jpg

listenMighty Father, Saint Casimir of Poland (1458-1484) was the son of a king and held the high office of Grand Duke.  He hated luxury and the temptations of the flesh.  He secretly did many penances to keep himself focused on the growth of his spirit.  I ask him to intercede for all persons in positions of leadership in our nation and around the world, in government, in businesses, in schools, and in universities.  Protect them, O Lord, from the Evil One.  Open their eyes to the vanity of this world and give them a longing for Heaven.  Help them submit themselves to the divine leadership of Christ the King.  Saint Casimir of Poland, pray for us.  Amen.

Quote for Today

Venerable Pope Pius XII (1876-1958)

quoteLet all, therefore, try to approach with greater trust the throne of grace and mercy of our Queen and Mother, and beg for strength in adversity, light in darkness, consolation in sorrow; above all let them strive to free themselves from the slavery of sin and offer an unceasing homage, filled with filial loyalty, to their Queenly Mother.”
