Saint Theophane VenardBeloved Savior, Saint Theophane Venard grieved his family when he became a missionary priest in a faraway land.  He never saw them again.  He said, “Whoever loved his home more than I do?  All my happiness on this earth was centered there.  But God, who has united us all in bonds of most tender affection, wanted to draw me from it.”  I ask him to pray for the separations in my life.  As I yearn to be reunited with my loved ones, teach me, O Lord, to be happy in You and to put You first, above all others.  If we are separated because of sin or strife, lead us to reconciliation and forgiveness.  Saint Theophane, pray for us.  Amen.

QUOTES by Saint Theophane Venard

I do not rely on my own strength, but on the strength of Him who defeated the power of Hell and of the world through the Cross. >>

We are all flowers planted on this earth, which God plucks in His own good time: some a little sooner, some a little later. One is a blushing rose, another a virginal lily, a third a humble violet. Let us all try to please our sovereign Lord and Master by the gift and the fragrance He has given us. >>
