February 27 – Saint Anne Line

Saint-Anne-Line.jpg

Holy God, *Saint Anne Line (c. 1563-1601) converted to Catholicism at a time when people were arrested for this.  She fearlessly helped others survive the persecutions, and her home became a rallying point for Catholics.  Fully aware of the possible cost to her life, she hid a priest and held Mass in her home, but was arrested and hanged for it.  I ask her to pray for the converts in my church, the converted Catholics of the world, and those being called by God to become Catholic.  Help them grow in true faith.  Help also all those who have fallen away from the Catholic Church; may they return with zeal.  Saint Anne Line, pray for us.  Amen.

Quotes for Today

Blessed Maria Caridad Brader (1860-1943)
Feast day February 27

quoteSee God’s will in everything, and do His will with joy, out of love of Him.”

Saint Gabriel Possenti (1838-1862)
Feast day February 27

quoteI will attempt day by day to break my will into pieces. I want to do God’s Holy Will, not my own!”

quoteLove Mary! She does not look to see what kind of person you have been. She simply comes to a heart that wants to love her. She comes quickly and opens her merciful heart to you, embraces you and consoles and serves you.”

* Note: Saint Anne Line is one of Terry Modica’s personal patron saints because February 27th is Terry’s birthday, and she too is a convert to Catholicism. In fact, Terry suspects that Saint Anne Line guided her to the Catholic Church long before Terry ever heard of her.
