Holy Jesus, Saint Pascal Baylon defended Your true Presence in the Eucharist. Intensely devoted to Your consecrated Body and Blood, he often spent much of the night in prayer before the altar. You rewarded him with ecstasies and raptures, which he humbly kept hidden to avoid praise. I ask him to pray for an increase in my devotion to the Eucharist, and for greater appreciation of Holy Communion in my church. I especially lift up to You, O Lord, those who do not believe in the True Presence, and those who take it for granted. May we experience You more fully whenever we see and consume Your Host. Saint Pascal Baylon, pray for us. Amen.

O Jesus, Saint John Nepomucene was a holy priest who served as confessor to the queen. He taught her to imitate You as she carried the cross of being married to a hot-tempered king. When he refused to violate the sacred seal of the queen’s confession, the king imprisoned him. As the patron saint of confessors and good confessions, I ask him to pray for my experiences in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Holy Spirit, in Your great gentleness, reveal to me what I need to confess, and speak Your compassionate healing through every priest who serves as my confessor. Saint John Nepomucene, pray for me. Amen.
Compassionate Lord, when Saint Dymphna was fourteen, her mother died and her distraught father thought he could fill the hole in his life by marrying his daughter. When she fled, he tracked her down. When she still refused to marry him, he cut off her head in a rage. I ask her to intercede for those in my life who are handicapped by mental disorders or emotional instability. Heal us, O Savior. Touch the inner wounds of these precious people, and bring wholeness to each life. Help them find You in their moments of deep hurt, and replace their emptiness with Your love. Saint Dymphna, pray for us. Amen.
Holy Spirit, before You descended on the disciples, You chose Saint Matthias to replace Judas as the twelfth apostle. This was the beginning of the apostolic succession and a reminder to us today that You are the One who calls men to the priesthood. I ask Saint Matthias to pray for an increase of vocations. Open our ears, O Lord, to hear the invitation to become who You created us to be. Teach us to put away the deceptions of the world that distract us from knowing Your choice for our career paths, and help us to overcome the obstacles that keep us from following Your command. Saint Matthias, pray for us. Amen.
Beloved Jesus, Saint Andrew Hubert Fournet was a priest who held onto the worldliness, pettiness and superior attitudes of his childhood. His parishioners disapproved, but he did not experience full conversion until a rejected beggar criticized him. The comment made him realize that his life did not match the Gospel he preached. I ask him to pray for priests today—and others in ministry—who have the same need for awakening. Send people into their lives who will stir their consciences. Make them aware, O God, of how attached to the world they have been, and give them a holy desire to become like You. Saint Andrew Hubert Fournet, pray for us. Amen.
